Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 29 July 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use bigscottishadventure.co.uk or follow one of our links to an activity provider's FareHarbor booking page. Please read the provider's activity details, restrictions and booking terms before paying.
2. Who we are
Big Scottish Adventure is a trading name of Big Adventure Scotland Ltd (SC839256). Email: info@bigscottishadventure.co.uk.
3. Our referral-only role
Big Scottish Adventure is an advertising and referral website. We introduce customers to independent activity providers through tracked links. We do not operate the activities, accept bookings, take or hold customer payments, issue booking confirmations, decide cancellations, or process refunds.
The independent activity provider is responsible for the activity and is the business supplying it. FareHarbor provides the provider's booking and payment technology.
4. Your contract and booking
When you follow a booking link, your booking is made directly with the provider named in FareHarbor. The contract for the activity is between you and that provider. A booking is confirmed only when the provider or FareHarbor sends confirmation.
The lead booker must be at least 18, have authority to book for all participants and ensure that everyone receives the provider's restrictions, arrival information, safety instructions and terms.
5. Prices, fees and payment
Prices shown on our website are indicative and may change. The current total, including any mandatory FareHarbor or provider fees, is shown before payment. Payment is made through FareHarbor to the provider or its payment processor. Big Scottish Adventure does not receive, hold or refund customer money. We may receive a referral commission from the provider; this does not change who supplies the activity.
6. Provider terms take priority
Each provider sets its own rules for cancellations, refunds, changes, deposits, late arrival, no-shows, weather, minimum numbers, medical requirements and participant eligibility. The activity-specific terms displayed in FareHarbor before payment and in the booking confirmation apply to that booking. If our website summary differs from the provider's current checkout terms, the provider's clearly disclosed checkout terms govern, subject to applicable law.
7. Customer cancellations and changes
Requests must be made to the provider using the contact details or method in the FareHarbor confirmation. Big Scottish Adventure cannot cancel, amend or refund a booking. Cancellation windows and charges vary by activity. See our Cancellation & Refund Information page and always check the current FareHarbor terms before paying.
Leisure activities booked for a specific date or period are generally excluded from the normal 14-day distance-contract cancellation right. This does not affect other statutory rights.
8. Provider cancellations, weather and operational changes
The provider decides whether conditions are safe and may change, postpone or cancel an activity for weather, water levels, access, equipment, staffing, minimum numbers or another safety or operational reason. Any transfer, credit or refund is determined and processed by the provider under its terms and applicable law. Customers should attend unless the provider says otherwise.
9. Participation requirements
You must check the provider's age, height, weight, health, fitness, swimming, clothing, footwear, consent and supervision requirements before booking. The provider may refuse participation where a person does not meet a disclosed requirement, is late, impaired, behaves dangerously or refuses safety instructions. The provider's cancellation terms will determine whether any refund is due.
10. Arrival and conduct
Arrive at the time and place stated in the confirmation and allow extra time for rural travel. Follow all provider instructions, complete required waivers and treat staff, other participants and the environment respectfully.
11. Complaints
Raise activity or booking concerns with the provider promptly, using the details in the FareHarbor confirmation. We can help identify the correct provider but cannot decide a complaint or authorise a payment or refund.
12. Responsibility
Big Scottish Adventure is responsible for providing its website and referral service with reasonable care and skill. The independent provider is responsible for delivering the activity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or mandatory consumer rights.
13. Website information
We take reasonable care with descriptions, prices and restrictions, but the provider's current FareHarbor listing and confirmation are authoritative. Photographs are illustrative, timings may be approximate and routes or formats may change.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law. Consumers may also have the right to bring proceedings in their local UK courts. Nothing removes mandatory consumer protection.
15. Contact
Website enquiries: info@bigscottishadventure.co.uk. Booking, cancellation, refund and activity enquiries should be sent directly to the provider named in the FareHarbor confirmation.
