Provider and Referral Relationship Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
1. Purpose
Big Scottish Adventure promotes outdoor activities supplied by independent businesses and links customers to those providers' FareHarbor booking pages. This policy explains the relationship clearly.
2. Big Scottish Adventure's role
Big Adventure Scotland Ltd, trading as Big Scottish Adventure, acts only as an advertising and referral partner. We may:
-
describe and compare activities;
-
display indicative prices and key participation information;
-
provide a tracked link to the provider's FareHarbor booking page; and
-
help a customer identify the correct provider contact.
We do not operate the activity, accept or reject bookings, collect or hold customer payments, issue confirmations, control availability, change reservations, decide cancellation requests, or process refunds.
3. The activity provider
The independent provider named in FareHarbor is the supplier of the activity and the customer's contracting party. The provider is responsible for delivery, guides and instructors, equipment, risk assessments, insurance, licences, safety decisions, participant eligibility, booking administration, customer service, cancellations and refunds.
The provider's identity is displayed in the linked FareHarbor booking path and booking confirmation.
4. FareHarbor
FareHarbor supplies booking and payment technology to the provider. Customers enter booking and payment information into FareHarbor for the provider. FareHarbor and the provider have their own terms and privacy notices.
5. Payment and referral commission
All customer payments are made through FareHarbor to the provider or its payment processor. Big Scottish Adventure takes no customer payment, does not hold customer funds and cannot issue a refund. We may receive a referral commission from the provider after a qualifying booking. This does not make Big Scottish Adventure the activity supplier or merchant.
6. Provider terms
Provider-specific terms cover matters including cancellations, refunds, date changes, deposits, no-shows, late arrival, weather, minimum numbers, waivers, medical restrictions, clothing, equipment and conduct. The terms displayed in FareHarbor before payment and supplied in the confirmation apply to the booking, subject to applicable law.
Where our summary differs from the provider's current checkout terms, the provider's clearly disclosed activity-specific terms govern.
7. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Customers must contact the provider using the method and details in the FareHarbor confirmation. Big Scottish Adventure cannot cancel or amend a booking, approve a refund or move money. We may point the customer to the correct provider but any outcome is decided and processed by that provider.
8. Complaints
Concerns about booking administration or activity delivery should be raised directly with the provider. Big Scottish Adventure remains responsible for its own website and referral service, including correcting any misleading information we publish.
9. Our responsibility
We provide our referral service with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible merely by reason of providing a referral link for an independent provider's acts or omissions. Nothing excludes responsibility imposed by law, including for our own negligence, misleading statements, fraud or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Packages
Big Scottish Adventure currently provides individual referral links and does not take payment for combined packages. Additional legal rules may apply if that business model changes.
11. Contact
Website and referral enquiries: info@bigscottishadventure.co.uk. Booking, payment, cancellation, refund and activity enquiries: contact the provider named in FareHarbor.
