Weather and Provider Cancellation Information
Last updated: 29 July 2026
1. Outdoor conditions
Activities may depend on weather, river levels, wind, visibility, temperature, snow, ice, access and other environmental conditions. Rain, cold and mud are normal parts of outdoor activity in Scotland and do not automatically mean an activity is cancelled.
2. The provider decides
The independent activity provider makes all operational and safety decisions using its risk assessments, forecasts and local conditions. Big Scottish Adventure does not operate the activity and cannot decide whether it should run.
3. Attend unless contacted
Customers should attend at the time and place in their FareHarbor confirmation unless the provider sends a cancellation, postponement or location-change notice. Do not assume that an activity is cancelled because of a general forecast.
4. Changes for safety or operations
The provider may change the route, start time, location, equipment or activity format, or may postpone or cancel because of weather, water levels, access, equipment failure, staffing, minimum numbers or another safety or operational issue.
5. Provider cancellation
Any transfer, credit, alternative activity or refund is determined and processed by the provider under the activity-specific terms displayed in FareHarbor and applicable law. Big Scottish Adventure does not hold customer money and cannot issue a refund. There is no universal Big Scottish Adventure weather-refund or voucher policy.
6. Customer decision not to attend
If the provider says the activity is operating but a customer chooses not to attend, the provider's customer-cancellation and no-show terms apply. Contact the provider before deciding not to travel.
7. Partial completion
If an activity starts and is shortened or stopped, any repeat session, credit or refund is decided by the provider under its terms and applicable law.
8. Travel and accommodation
Providers' terms commonly exclude separate travel, accommodation, meal and other incidental costs. Customers should consider flexible arrangements and suitable travel insurance. Nothing excludes a right or remedy that applicable law provides.
9. Communications
Providers may send changes by email, SMS, telephone or FareHarbor notification. The lead booker is responsible for monitoring the contact details supplied and informing all participants.
10. Who to contact
Use the provider contact details in the FareHarbor booking confirmation for weather, cancellation, booking and refund enquiries. Big Scottish Adventure can help identify the correct provider but cannot change the booking or authorise a remedy.
