Bungee vs giant swing vs zip line at Killiecrankie

Choosing an activity near Pitlochry? Killiecrankie has three distinct ways to experience the River Garry gorge: a bungee jump, a giant swing and a zip-line circuit. The right choice starts with the experience you want, then the participation requirements for everyone in your group.

Bungee: choose the leap

Highland Fling’s bungee uses a platform beneath the Garry Bridge, with a 40-metre jump towards the River Garry and a winch return to the platform. It is the option to compare first if the jump itself is your main goal.

The operator lists a minimum age of 14 and a weight range of 35–140kg for the solo jump. Check its complete medical and participation requirements before booking; meeting the age and weight limits alone does not confirm suitability.

Giant swing: choose the drop and arc

The Highland Swing starts from a platform 40 metres above the river. The operator describes an initial drop of around 15 metres before the rope takes the load and the movement becomes a sweeping arc. You return to the platform by winch.

Its listed minimum age is 10, with a weight range of 35–120kg. A swing is a different experience from a bungee, but it should not be treated as a medically easier alternative. Review the operator’s requirements for the specific activity.

Zip line: choose a circuit through the gorge

Killie Zip comprises 11 lines through woodland and across the River Garry. It spreads the experience over a course rather than one jump or release.

The operator lists a minimum age of 8, a minimum height of 140cm and a maximum weight of 120kg. Under-16s need an accompanying adult on the course, with one adult for every two children. The operator also excludes participants with pacemakers. Read its full health requirements before deciding whether the course suits your group.

Planning for a family or mixed group

Start with each person’s eligibility, then compare preferences. A younger advertised minimum age does not mean everyone in that age group can take part: height, weight, health and supervision requirements still matter. Avoid booking a group activity until you have checked every participant against the operator’s current rules.

If combining activities, confirm arrival times and the time to allow between sessions with the operator before paying. Do not assume neighbouring activities have matching availability. Check parking, meeting-point and spectator arrangements when planning the day.

Check your date and book with the provider

Use the activity pages above to reach the provider’s FareHarbor booking options. Confirm your chosen date, the total price, participant requirements and cancellation terms there before completing payment. Booking and payment are with the activity provider; Big Scottish Adventure does not collect your payment.

Activity details checked against Highland Fling Bungee’s published information on 15 October 2026. Requirements and schedules can change; the provider’s current booking information takes precedence.
