River Tay or River Tummel?
The River Tay and River Tummel trips both offer guided white-water rafting in Perthshire, but they are designed for different participants. The Tay is the more accessible choice for families, beginners and mixed-experience groups. The Tummel is a more technical seasonal trip for participants aged 16 and over.
The right choice depends on more than confidence. Check age, water level, fitness, the live schedule and the full provider requirements before selecting a date.

The River Tummel is not simply a faster version of the Tay. Its grade, minimum age and seasonal schedule make it a separate choice that should be assessed on its own terms.
Equipment and meeting information
The operator describes the necessary rafting safety equipment and professional guiding as included. Expect to check the footwear, swimwear, towel and warm-clothing requirements before travelling.

What if rain is forecast?
Rain does not automatically cancel rafting. River levels and other conditions affect operational decisions, and the operator decides whether a trip can run safely. Do not self-cancel based only on the forecast.
